She seemed like an Akara. Early on the game Akara had no situational awareness and pushed personal details on people, just like Karen from HR. I think it was painfully obvious by the third person she was so "Close" with and her employee profile.

If you call Karen as Edgar, she says "Hi Daddy," or something along those lines. She's an Akara.

Apologies for necroposting, but I did not find this information elsewhere - just finished the game (twice) this month for the first time and only after second playthrough I found a small detail that definitely confirms "Karen Fromtheaitchar" is Akara:

If you spell "akara" on telephone keypad, you will get Karen's telephone number 555-025-272, that is 555-0(AK-ARA).
