Dumbest mistakes you've made?
I've had a number of doozies, though I can't recall much specific. More than once I've bought weapons and/or cores at the end of an island and then forgot to equip them before starting the next mission. I tend to get tripped up often by wind, conveyors, and enemies bumping each other, failing to account for how the positions will change from how it looks at the end of my turn. I've lost more than one mech this way and a good amount of grid points. Once I completely failed to notice a Vek attacking a building, so I didn't account for it when deciding my turn. Recently I left a non-flying mech on a tile that was about to collapse into a chasm because I was distracted by how much I liked the shot I was able to take and just completely spaced on the environmental hazard.

Didnt notice the Vek had explode on death buff... killed my Veteran Vera who had Acid & Fire Immunity bonus trait so it was immune to everything which is hreat for Brutes. Took ages to train a new one and get the right rng trait again.

Oof... Yeah, I've been burned a few times by forgetting about the explosion on death as well.

I had a new one recently. I was doing the armored train mission, and on one of the turns there were like four or five Vek attacking the train. I panicked at first, until I released that most of them were doing one damage attacks that the train could tank. No problem. So I ended my turn with a bunch of attacks still aimed at the train, and the first one that hit sent the train plummeting to its destruction because I failed to notice that it was positioned right on a cracked tile, which my earlier attack with a drill mech had caused.

I was at the very end of a hard difficulty Mist Eaters 4-island run, with two turns before the bomb triggered. The bomb was at half health. I had Mafan in the jet, and there was a psion tyrant out. I unfortunately couldn't take care of the psion that turn, and I attacked with Mafan as usual. I was surprised and dismayed when Mafan's mech was taken out at the start of the enemy turn, having forgotten to account for the psion hurting Mafan. This mistake ended up costing me the run, and now my highest score is a Mist Eaters defeated run. ¬_¬
