Throne of Lies®: Medieval Politics

Too many people treat this game like it's competitive.
Just have fun with it. Make a character, go with it. It's so boring when it's just guessing and scum reading.

Don't pay too much attention to them.
There will always be someone screaming at another in every match.

But of course, refusing to claim to the mystic/prince as Bd, or purposely giving fake logs incriminating a rando while playing as a real sheriff...these actions are just sabotaging everyone's fun as they are neither creative or funny.
Not that I'm implying you do these things, but I've seen them happen.

Btw, you'll get much more responses on Discord.

I don't know your context... because obviously there's extremes on both ends that can ruin the game, which is the case for all games.

Nobody wants to play basketball with a guy who curses out everyone he thinks makes a bad play.

At the same time, even in most casual basketball games, it also isn't typically fun when a teammate intentionally tosses a ball to your opponent, or walks off the field mid play to get some ice-cream.

Throne of lies is the same thing, there is taking it too serious, there is also not taking it seriously enough. If you aren't trying to win.. you aren't really playing the game, which means you are ruining the game for everyone else, but yes that doesn't mean you should only play the highest probability of winning strategy even if it grinds the game to a tedious mess, or be rude to others if they are seriously at least trying.

I agree that you should be trying to win, but you should only try to win in either unique or spectacular fashion. For example, I was playing inquisitor last time and I was jailed night one, I told the prince that I was inquisitor and that I would side with BD as long as I got my heretics. He let me live and I outted myself the next day. I then played the character of a pious man, in which I said, "I am not here to kill, but only to bear witness to the path god has chosen for his heretics."

I let every heretic live, even when they outted themselves. By the end of the game, they had all died without me telling a single lie or using any offensive action. I helped BD out cult and ended up MVP without blood on my character's hands.

This is what makes the game interesting. I really hate the scum reading meta as it's just so boring, it's a completely left brain game whereas this game really shines when one uses both sides of their brain.
