You can whisper your claim to the king to keep your identity private, although he might not read it in time.
If you refuse to claim, they will 100% vote to execute you.
In terms of not getting killed by evil, staying silent about your identity is wise.
In terms of not getting lynched by the suspicious court, staying silent is unwise.
Sometimes there is just not enough time and information to do thoughtful detective work.
on the other hand if you are put UP, as in the trial starts. The act of putting someone up for trial is by definition information that over half of the court has explicitly made the statement that they have intent to execute you if you do not change their mind. That's what voting someone up is. If them executing you is harmful towards your goal (which is pretty universal for darn near everything except already won classes and fool) Then yes you by definition gamethrowing if you don't claim on trial. In short, a 99.9% chance of getting executed, wasting BD's execution etc... Not only does unseen/cult/NK get the benefit of you being dead, but they don't even have to use their night kill to do it. so in a way you caused the next persons death as well in a way.
meanwhile if you do claim, assuming you actually are clearly the most valuable person out there. (the point of being evil is generally they can afford to kill randomly, it's not like they don't kill unknowns so if you aren't the most valuable person, it doesn't matter), At worse there's about a 60% chance of them killing you (as they likely fear guards, heals, or that you were a hunter lying to bear), But even in the event that they do attack you, and nothing protects you, an evil wasted his kill on you, meaning no one else died, which is clearly far more ideal then getting killed by your own allies then watching the evils kill someone else that night.
