That's pretty far from dead... If I recall the stats don't read right or something, but it's pretty irrelevant. Games will start in under a minute usually. Dev's are extremely active (expect major balance fixes etc... at least once a month, smaller minor tweaks about every week or so.

No worries, I enjoyed my time in it and games were pretty quick. I just need to learn the roles like I know Salem's. I claimed Sheriff in a cult game and didn't know they don't show up in cult games xD.
Bwahah, yep, you'll get it. You came at a perfect time, though: We JUST made a huge patch that makes our glossary of terms more consistent and reduces tons of tedious memorizing by consolidating 99% similar abilities. Still a lot to learn, but shouldn't be too bad if coming from ToS.

Cool, look forward to continuing to play (Hopefully less cancer here than Salem). Any chance of a ranked later or did I just not see it yet because I just started?

TBH I've enjoyed a lot of their patch updates. Just this last one is so god awful that its left a sour taste in my mouth. The changes are completely stupid - and came with no warning or input from the community. I've played this game for 650 hours and one of my favorite things to do after work to unwind. Now? Probably my last night of playing it for a good long while.

The complexity of the game was a draw for me and I also am not thrilled with the simplifications of the most recent update.

Hmm? We've been talking about streamlining the game for months O_o tons of the feedback was discussed.

You're in the wrong hub: be sure to check any 1 of the 5 pins on the main discussions page.

There's a full reasoning for it on our official community/news hub @ https://discord.gg/tol #game-news - without this patch, there would be no new mechanics/classes. Now, we're future-proof and we can have new content without bloating the confusion of the game. There's now consistency and gives us the ability to do... well, everything!

As for balance, we always fix things -- the average repeated negative feedback we see is really only just a few, particular nuances that can be fixed.

The only thing actually simplified was the Alchemist. We've since renamed the update to Streamlined which better reflects what the patch actually did.

I'm going to lock this thread since the purpose of OP has already been served.
