Game Keeps Throwing Itself to Desktop in Fullscreen (Worked Fine Before)

Hey everyone,

I finished this game back in February without any issues, but now the game is acting weird ,and I have no idea why.

Every time I launch the game in fullscreen, it throws itself back to the desktop almost instantly. It doesn’t crash, but the game window disappears like it’s been alt-tabbed. If I try to bring the window back manually, it stays for a second... then throws itself to desktop again. After doing this a few times, the game sometimes just switches itself to windowed mode on its own.

This didn’t happen before — the game ran smooth in fullscreen months ago.

I'm not running any overlays (like Discord/Steam FPS counters).

I’ve already tried reinstalling, verifying files, and disabling fullscreen optimizations.

In windowed mode the game runs fine, but I’d prefer fullscreen (or at least borderless) if possible.

Anyone else experiencing this? Any fix?

That is indeed strange, and I can think of two things that could be causing this. One, some kind of input problem - check that your devices are running properly and you don't have your keyboard doing funky things, for example. Or two, some software that's getting in the way, perhaps some hidden prompt from an antivirus or something.

Thanks for reply, the keyboard just work fine, if somehow there are problem like u said, it will do the same to other game, but it only to this game, and I try to launch again, this time , somehow the game launch in windowed mode, i try change it to borderless mode, it work fine, but i notice it run in locked resolution, so i try to change it to fullscreen , it happened again.

Can u alt tab back into the window? And if so does it go back to the desktop?

Also if yes to both of the previous, just alt tab back in 1 or 2 more times and the game should stay.

Yes, I can, i can alt back to the game, but after few sec, it throw me back again to desktop. And if i keep doing it, at some point, it auto change to windowed mode.

It auto changes to windowed. That is weird. It might be a focus issue, but I honestly don't know and I am just guessing.
