Xeon processor vs performance
Hello,
I love SimAirport, but the lag of the pax when getting a bigger airport is still a issue.
Played on a windows (I7 processor) and macbook pros (last was a M2 chip).
Always the same thing, when getting roughly 8 XL gates, the lag starts to kick in.
Now, I have a workstation with a Xeon E5-1650 v3 processor (6x3.5GHz) with 128GB(!!) RAM.
Does anybody know if this would be better? Or even worse?
The graphic card isn't that huge (Nvidia Quadro K620 2GB), but I could replace it with a HP NVIDIA Quadro K1200 4GB.
I was thinking that maybe the CPU was the most important thing in this game?

Those graphics cards won't work. Neither one of them. Anything you'd add into CPU side will be killed and lost twice over because GPUs don't have enough VRAM.

This kind of simulation games always need CPUs with higher possible single core speed. So latest 9950X or 14900K would be the best ones for this game. And for any other similar simulations.
The lag is a big issues that the devs are working on in the next game update from hints they have been dropping on the discord server: https://discord.gg/ShqSSEK
They have not mentioned a release date as of yet, but did say when they get closer and know they can meet the date they will announce it.
