Is this game going to leave alpha phase any time soon
it says the multiplayer save has been deleted because of compatibility issues. I'm not sure if i should consider playing in multi, but single player has no cloud save.
I really thought the word early access was beta not alpha

the multiplayer saves get deleted on big updates. There is a road map so you can see where we are right now

The game entered beta a few months ago. But "alpha" and "beta" are not terms with defined meanings. They are used differently by different developers.
