Its easy. Well tad bit tricky, cuz same buttons do different things in town and in the field, but for example I use:

WSDA - movement
C - confirm
ESC - cancel/back (RMB works too)
L.Ctrl - walk
Space - Jump

1 - Menu for AI's (errands, talk, blacksmithing, give present, equip, etc.) - in the field you must use LMB while weapon sheated.
L.Alt - select partner (UP) for quick F1 praising
F1 - Good Job
L.Shift - Step/Dash
Q - for quick Talk with people (events), in the field its Battle Skill (parry, etc.)
E - Sword Skill (in the field while weapon sheathed same as G below)
G - in town you can look into AI's mood/stats screen
F - Lock on
X - Sub Pallete (commands like atk, heal, draw aggro) and number 1-8 while holding X
Z - Pallete screen (skill bars) mouse wheel goes up and down betwean 1-6 bars.
R - sheathe/draw weapon
V - mini map
TAB - your menu/character screen

As you can see I have practically everything I need for easy left hand access while I use mouse for camera movement and normal atk. It works perfect for me. I made it to floor 500 Singularity so far with no problems. Experiment and adjust to your liking.
Remember that to rotate camera you must hold RMB. For quick skill use you set for all 4 under E and Q spots, its in order: E, W + E, double tap W + E, WASD to do 360 + E (this one a bit wonky, but works). Making SS chains works very good. You can set any skill or command under all the E, Q and X tho.

Its easy for me as I trully HATE controllers. Some people say Dark Souls is unplayable with K+M for them and for me its easier then controller. Its just depends of getting used too.

Edited a bit :) No problem. Also make note that you cant switch partners with L.Alt while you have pallete open.
