Classic Mode, Not So Classic?
Any insight into Classic Mode?

From the store screenshots, etc. The Classic Mode appears to be the classic levels with the new graphic and gameplay updates.

Is there an option to revert to the graphics and gameplay that the original game delivered?

Or am I totally missing what "Classic" is, as defined by the developers of this Lode Runner?

I did play Lode Runner on the Commodore 64, and was interested in reviving the game experience I enjoyed back then.

Classic mode is the original level layouts from Lode Runner, and the graphics are similar to the original, but in 3D. They're not the same graphics used in the Adventure and Puzzle modes.

I like it with exception of sounds. They are too penetrating walls. They should allow us three graphics mode to select manually for all parts of the game: Modern 3d, the 3d classic and the flat 2d. AND ability to model our own themes and post them to the workshop, not just gold items

The 2D thing wouldn't actually work because the game is in 3D. You could alter the camera view to make it look more 2D, but it wouldn't be possible to make a flat 2D theme that is freely interchangeable anywhere in the game without completely re-coding everything.

Original 8 bit game that ran on <64k of ram.

The classic mode is brilliant - massive kudos the devs for maintaining the OG feel, look and sound, but giving it a modern improvement without bastardizing the OG elements. Respect! BUT! We want the actual original mode in addition.
