[Released/OpenSource/Tool] Allowed Places - Now with Workshop car support
I have been scratching out a little Windows app/utility for setting the allowed places for cars easily. It will parse the cars directory, read all the configs in the subdirectory, and generate checkboxes to toggle their availabilty for Salon, Shed, Junkyard, or Auction. Obviously it's more for the players that wouldn't have an easy time just manually going through the text files.

I'm open to any suggestions if anyone can think of something else that would be handy to have in such a utility.

Update: I know there's a lot of distrust in the world today regarding random executables. So, here's the source code, provided under MIT license.

Aug 11, 2017 6pm Update: The dropbox DL and github source have been updated with the newest version of the code. There is no longer a need for an "apply" button, changes are saved automatically. There are now buttons at the top for "All" or "None" for the 4 different areas.

Aug 13, 2017 Update: Now with value adjustment! The UniqueMod attribute allows you to adjust the value of the car and probably other mechanics of the game.

Aug 17, 2017 Update: Upper bound for Uniquemod raised to 999.00. This made a Sakura GT20 worth 2 billion without an engine.

Aug 21, 2017 Update: Made some suggested changes regarding checking for files, and also made the functions case-insensitive.

Sept 1, 2017 Update: Thanks to your fellow mod enthusiasts, we have a little fixup regarding filenames. Source and executable have been updated.

Dec 12, 2017 Update: Finally got around to fixing a little problem with game directory detection, and added support for Workshop cars.

Dec 23, 2018 Update: Adjusted for changes in the game relocating images.

Dec 27, 2018 Final Update: Removed images from the utility in order to maintain a consistent experience between stock vehicles and addon vehicles.

Curious why some 'mods' get pinned in the topic thread but, this one don't? Personally, I consider this mod to be a 'MUST HAVE' mod for anyone willing to add modifications to their base game simply for how handy this tool is. Guess I'll just keep 'reviving' this thread to keep it up closer to the top.
Thank you. That was nice of you to say. I'm glad people find this tool so handy.

Not even sure it will be an issue in the new version....CMS2021....but, if the dev's make it similar and some cars don't show up in junkyard, sheds, auctions.....will you be creating an updated mod of this one for the new version? I'm sure tons of ppl would be just as grateful for it. Ofc....I don't even know if it's an issue in the new version though.

I kind of felt like Red Dot would rather I not do another after they made changes that directly impacted the tool, removing the images of the vehicles that are included stock with the game. I thought that wasn't very nice of them. At any rate I am not planning to purchase the game.
