The devs aren't much active on the Steam forums. If you need quicker support, the official forums might be the better option.
I have a Mac. Not a laptop though. Just a Mac desktop. But I'll check reinstalling! Thanks!
I did this and it did change it but didn't fix it. Now, it says my computer needs to be updated to a certain version, yet there are no updates available.

I deleted all of the ACEO Workshop subscriptions that I had thinking it was a glitched error message because of corrupted files due to Steam Workshop. It did nothing.
Due to the latest update of the Unity engine which is the core of this game, it seems that it is finally not possible anymore to start the game with this old OS X version.
As Apple does not provide you an update, it seems that your hardware is very old. :/
