How hard is Hard?

Hey.

I'm on my last mission in Commandos Behind Enemy Lines.
Did 17 of them in full stealth until the very end. Last 2 were pain but I managed (Haven't started the last yet but I believe it's really hard).

So I'm wondering, how hard is hard difficulty in Beyond Call of Duty?
What does it affect?
I don't really want to torture myself but I also don't want too easy experience.
If someone could compare Hard to the first game, to give me some perspective, that would be awesome.

It's been more than a decade since I last played this game, but from what I remember:
Hard adds additional enemy soldiers to the maps - already noticable in the first mission when trying to enter the island. Apart from that nothing really changes IMHO...
The one thing you must be aware of: This game was really designed as an addon to BEL and continues from the difficulty of mission 20...

IMHO it's well worth it - even though I can't remember how many tries I needed for the _start_ of the first mission...
