Is it normal to only get the same 3 masteries?

What I mean is, every time I complete a map and get a choice of 3 rewards, if it's a trap mastery reward, it's always, ALWAYS, either the dart or the spike trap. It's been a couple years since I last played, but I am pretty sure the other traps should be possible rewards too? I am on the second ascension, is the game bugged, thinking I haven't unlocked other traps?

It's been a while for me as well, but I recall thinking it was more about the position of the map on the grid. The earlier maps seem to offer rewards for earlier traps and the later maps offer rewards for traps unlocked later.

In my case, I was aiming for the dart trap mastery but remember being annoyed at receiving flamethrower rewards.

I am just about done with the map, though. I have seen nothing but dart or spike :/
