Can the official optimize the game quickly?
I'm using an RTX 5080 and a U9 CPU. The GPU and CPU are only running at 30% power, and the game is only hitting 30 FPS. It's pretty rough to play.

wow that's rough. I have a RTX5080 and a 9800X3D and the game runs at 165 FPS. Did you activate a FPS cap somewhere?

bro.Which mode are you running in?I played sandbox mode and I made a park with 79 habitats.I normally open a new archive at about 200fps.But that park is only 30fps.My NVIDIA shows that my GPU and cpu are sleeping.
Confirm your computer has the latest bios and drivers installed. That includes the latest me package for your motherboard. Also disable dlss in graphics on the system.

3440×1440 with ultra preset. Refresh controlled by Gsync/Freesync. Admittedly I haven't made a park that big yet.

How big is your zoo? 1 core is going to bottleneck the CPU. CPU usage ONLY matters if your GPU is the bottleneck. Which is not the case in a game with literal infinite building. Draw calls will quickly decide how long a frame takes at their fastest.

Also your CPU is kinda ♥♥♥♥. Its designed around effeciency not speed. IPC is very low and you got baited with a high clock speed that means ♥♥♥♥ all when it can't hit half the IPC of a standard desktop cpu.

Planet Zoo is harsh to all systems from what I've heard

The game lags after a while, with under-used cpu and gpu, whatever the configuration. Apparently one trick is to disable all escalable objects and only activate those in the enclosures.

Just like all their games (and many management and tycoon games with it) just tends to not be very well optimised. As soon as there start to get a lot of assets it all goes to ♥♥♥♥ and the games become unbearable to play. And to make habitats and the park look even remotely nice and realistic you have to bombard it with different parts and vegetation making it even worse. These games feel like more like working autocad or maya than playing an actual game sometimes.
