Planet Zoo: Seas and Skies
I love this game. I am so glad this game exists, and I'm always happy to support it whenever new DLC is released. From the bottom of my heart, I say all of the following as a die-hard fan of both this game, and the zoo-game genre as a whole:

Frontier needs to give us aviaries, and no amount of palette-swapped ungulates is going to change that. I don't think there's a zoo on earth that doesn't AT LEAST have a room full of parakeets to walk into or a pond with some ducks to stare at. Every zoo I have EVER been to has more than just ratites- kookaburras, owls, raptors, hell, I've even seen vultures – yet Frontier ignores an ENTIRE ORDER OF ANIMALS because it's a hassle to implement them? Nah. You make too much money to get away with that excuse after 20 mammal-centric DLCs with ancillary reptiles/athropods/amphibians in decorative cubes. Come on.

Sure, I know it's a lot of work, especially retooling the engine to let us build proper aquariums; anyone who's made aquatic exhibits in this game knows how janky they are to implement even with mods to smooth the way. But you guys can absolutely swing it because you literally built the engine this game runs off of- and if you can't, go ask the modding community for help with the implementation, because they've already got most of this hammered out anyway. Go hire them to do the work if need be. There's no excusing the lack of birds and fish by saying the Cobra engine can't handle it, because we have already have seen that it can.

I'd gladly pay $30, hell, $50 and wait a year or more for a proper Marine Mania-style expansion pack: I'll do the same for birds, if that's what I have to do (though you should bundle 'em at this point- this game is starting to rival The Sims in monetization, and resembling EA is never something you want to aspire to.) Don't make Planet Zoo 2, make Planet Zoo: Seas and Skies. Give us meaty, deep new content for this game, rather than squirting out a shell of a sequel with 1/20th the content of its predecessor (hello, Planet Coaster 2.)

I don't care what it takes. Do a kickstarter, a gofundme, whatever you have to do to convince the shareholders-that-be to make this happen. We all know it would get funded in under 24 hours – but money isn't the issue here, and I think that goes without saying. You can only rest on your laurels for so long before they wither away.

I love Planet Zoo, but it's not gonna be a complete game until you properly represent aquatic and avian animals, and that's a simple fact. There are whole families of animals and features of real-world zoos that Planet Zoo is missing all these years later. It is pure and unmitigated laziness to not put in the work, and it is exactly because I love this game so much and want it to be the best it can be that I am here to say: do more, and do better. Make this game a complete experience.

I would prefer a Planet Zoo: Extinction myself. 😉

I'd also be down for that as a follow-up once we get fish and birds hammered out. I'm all for the Marine Mania > Dinosaur Digs expansion pack route. At this point it's out of the scope of the game, but if they follow that one up with a fantasy pack with dragons, unicorns, and other things... I won't complain~

But before we get any of the silly nonsense, we need to be able to build a fish tank and a flight cage.

I do not see it for Planet Zoo, but for Planet Zoo 2. Some in the community thinks that Frontier might have confirmed PZ2 for 2026 in a report they released. It is similar to Planet Coaster they waited to release Planet Coaster 2 with water parks. JWE3 is getting features that were suggested since the first game.

I don't care for dinosaurs in PZ, that's a different game which actually already exists.
But no birds? Absurd!
I bought a few DLCs last week and I'm glad I did, because of all the new creatures and building elements.
But I don't think I will buy any more; it seems obvious to me that they are saving birds for the next game instalment, and at the present time only releasing copies of animals that are already in the game. How many types of gazelles do we need? Bears? Big cats?
What about new path mechanics? A better vegetation system? And of course, birds?
So I'm not holding my breath waiting for something of substance. They will make the introduction of birds, new paths etc the most important "thing" of the new game. I just hope that it won't be an absolute disgraceful FLOP like Ciries Skylines 2 has been.

Given how Planet Coaster 2 has been going, I'd rather Frontier just iterate on the (good) game they have rather than dropping any kind of sequel. I don't care if it breaks every single zoo I've ever built, backport the new pathing of PC2 into this game, Frontier! Give us fish! Give us birds!

I wouldn't get your hopes up, shareholders only care about maximum profit for minimum effort. I'd be happy to eat my words, but after three decades of existence I'm pretty cynical.

You and me both, but I'd love to be proven wrong and I'd happily eat my words with a fork and knife if Frontier decides to do more than the bare minimum. They've made improvements in how they engage with the community and in the content they put out over time... I don't expect anything revolutionary in the slightest, the games industry in current-year is a hellscape even by games-industry standards. But one can expect the worst, hope for the best, and wallow in the mediocrity we are given...

I don't want these in the Planet Zoo game, but as new games. I would love a Planet Zoo version of Dino Digs. I would also die from joy and happiness if they did a fantasy version of the game!!!

I'd love flying birds in PZ, but it's never going to happen. Best hope is PZ2.
