You have to research every animal you have access to. If you have DLC, you have to research all of them too. This award is best to do before you buy any DLC for that reason.

Thank you! RIP to me then. i downloaded it with family account so my housmate already has all DLC. atleast i know what to do then. gonna take some time haha

I think you could disable your DLC, get the achievement and then reinstall the DLC again.

It may feel like cheating, but the trophy is sometimes bugged, I got it the first time I played in sandbox because the game "saw" every animal fully researched

I got it myself when I had several DLCs - it did take some time and that was just with SOME, not all the current ones!

It doesn't work in sandbox. That must have been a bug that you got it then. It's a franchise achievement.

just finished it yesterday with all dlc it was a big grind

i got it yesterday it took me alot of hours but in the end it was more of zoologist then just the base game grind haha

i had to do all the dlc aswell. for me was 220 in total.

Finally managed to get the Zoologist achievement!

I had researched all the animals required (DLC animals are not required for this achievement), but the achievement wouldn't complete.
Uninstalled all DLC, fired up an empty Franchise Zoo and DING!

The DLC would be required if you didn't uninstall them. Good for new peeps to know though - UNINSTALL your DLCs before going for the achievement.
