Obrigatory steam running? Why? How to run without?
I havent tested the app yet properly but one thing right out of the gate doesnt feel right: why a SOFTWARE is requiring steam running to run?
A study one on top of it all?

I try to avoid distractions when im working or studying- and steam is one such distraction, even on not disturb, any updates on it can disrupt my concentrarion or get in the way of fighting procastination impulses- i mean, its a gaming platform and i have a library full of distractions... plus it unecessarily is in the background eating resources, and while light by itself the softwares i constantly use +browser windows that can easily get to dozens of tabs open i frequently reach slowdowns... WITHOUT steam running.

The games with flashcards sound like a novelty gimmick i will probably try a few times- but the main thing that caught my attention was random questions/flashcards (called 'study with your games') wich i was hoping to set on some large timers and just keeping studyX on the background while working (turning on whenever doing repetitive non-crucial tasks).

Why would i need steam open all the time for that?

StudyX is a neat idea, and cheap- but im not sure if id use it at all if it means having to run steam. I looked in the website, maybe buying off steam would do it, but its only sold on steam...

Question: Can i run without steam? If so how?

If not this is a feature request/sugestion.

Id hate to refund for such a small thing, but i really take that separation seriously (gaming/distractions at its own time), i struggle with my ADHD and know myself too well not to trust me with steam luring me out of studying or working needlessly

Id also like to add a bug report and another suggestion

So i tested the random quiz on timer mode but had an issue (bug? unclear instruction) and have a sugestion

- BUG?: answered one correctly, it imediatly asks another, saying press x button to close.
What X button? I tried the letter X on keyboard in multiple ways, tried esc, nothing worked, i had to use taskmanager (darkened, behind the overlay) and terminate studyX for the quiz to stop.
What button is used to close the quiz? Is the label x wrong? Can it be changed?

- More time options:
10 minutes as the longest time i feel is too short. Some more options (30min, 1hour) should be possible, but what would be even better would be custom; for example i frequently use the 'pomodoro method' of time blocking (sessions of x time working, then short 5 minute breaks, after 4 sessions a longer break, sessions around 45-90minutes) and having a custom time option would allow me to fit with whatever pomodoro length im using - plus it could even double as the 'alarm'/cue that its time for a break, would fit like a glove and would be 1 window/app less open (id stop using a timer, letting the quiz pop-up be my 'time for a break' alarm)

Would also be nice being able to set a custom range (between X and Y minutes between prompts)- but that would be an extra. But longer timers and custom timer i feel like a must

Just short times and having to force close are also a no-go for me. Hopefully that can be fixed

Right now X is only allowed when you get the answer correct, we can probably clarify that better. StudyX uses Steam for the workshop, but we can consider allowing it to continue running without steam
