Slipstream

Game not starting
I go to my steam library like normal and press play on slipstream, then a window pops up with the title slipstream but immediately closes. I need help please

Edit: I saw in a previous discussion that the problem was that the file wasn't in the C drive, my directory is [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Slipstream] will that still work or is it a different problem?

It may be a different problem. I have mine installed on my F: drive for vidya.
Only issues I can think of would be compatibilty based maybe because it's not like you need a 10 series card to run the game.
What Os are you running and have you updated drivers for your GPU/ OS recenetly?

Okay. 7 or 10? ( I'm asking because I want to see if I can replicate the problem on an old work laptop to troubleshoot it.

This is the error:

OH. Just uninstall Java and be sure to update to the newest one. that *should* fix it for you.

Oh ok, I'll get back to you if it doesn't work but I'm sure it will

I mean, that should fix it, I'm not the best troubleshooter but usually from what I've seen that's caused by either being out of date or a memory issue. though... I highly doubt you have less than the like... 300megs of ram this game needs lol.

Something worth noting I just found as well, Are you attempting to run the .exe or running it from Steam? If I attempt to run the .exe it crashes the second it reaches full screen. I've been running it by right clicking on the steam icon in my tray and selecting it or via desktop shortcut placed by steam... odd.

Edit: Be sure you have the 64bit version of java for your 64bit windows as well. that can cause this overflow issue too.

Well...uh, I restarted my computer, uninstalled Java, installed the x64 version and updated it, tried everything I know, incl. uninstall-reinstall, administrator, and compatibility mode but it still won't start up, just a quick flash of a small black screen

Like I said, the only time I managed to get that issue in testing was attempting to launch the game outside of steam with the .exe
Are you launching via steam?

I tried Steam, shortcut (desktop, steam created, and file explorer created), as well as the .exe itself but no dice

Weird. Is it just the CTD now and no longer giving you the Java error?

It's still:
#
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# EXCEPTION_STACK_OVERFLOW (0xc00000fd) at pc=0x433ac0c7, pid=916, tid=0x00002258
Even though I updated Java and all

Well ♥♥♥♥. Sorry but I'm out of ideas/info to find.
The only other thing I've been able to find that causes this is from a farsky thread where the on board Intel graphics was being used over the GPU.
