likely a glitch involving the workshop as this game hasn't had a real update in quite some time. as wonderful as the steam workshop is sometimes files don't download properly or miss the memo that they were supposed to update. iirc the solution to this was verify the integrity of the game files (after making sure you didn't unsubscribe from the mods by accident of course) and that should fix it (though if I'm wrong someone will correct me I hope).

Or the creator was compromised and whoever took control of the account deleted/privated the mods... not saying that's the exact cause for the disappearance, just covering potential bases.

I had to restart my PC twice for it to come back.. something I guess was preventing it from loading within the game.. perhaps the load order is messed up a bit.. but I got it to work
