there are no standalone experience DLCs for Mercs. all of them add mechs, equipment, and quests to the already existing open world campaign/career mode. Solaris Showdown in particular adds arena missions to industrial hubs in case you can't even be bothered to go to a conflict zone.
Most of them have campaign missions as well that you can undertake at any time. The only exception is one of the early DLCs. I think Kestrel Lancers. That one has a time sensitive mission that you lose access to if you progress beyond the a certain date, and then can't complete that mission for the rest of the save. It's a mission about a competitive wargame scenario played with several houses, and can be tough if still using light starter mechs, so it's a bit of a race to get 4 mid range mechs early on to hit the mission. (Alternatively, nerf the difficulty level, give yourself infinite ammo/extre heat dissipation and nerf enemy AI aaccuracy in the difficulty customization menu and it's a cake walk with almost any light mechs).

All those DLC campaigns have time limits, that the game lets you know about in game and it gets a bit annoying about letting you know, within the last 6 months in game time.....
Oh, well that sucks. Apparently there's a mod for PC that extends the time limits into the year 6000 something, so won't have to start a new save if your current save is beyond the date deadlines.

Yeah, they have deadlines, which is part of the challenge, but on the plus side they teleport you to the location from any point in the galaxy in an instant for free when you choose to accept the offer.
