Other times, and I believe that's the majority of my experiences, they just follow me around blindly and even listen to my calls when I use F1.
All in all it is probably linked to the quality (rank/experience) of their AI. Like most things in this game.
Also I remember Wayz having problems increasing enemy ai max range? Something about his CPU having problems? Not sure for the life of me. (Certainly taxing on the PC regardless)
Do you always place your medium lasers in group one or something?
This is part of the reason why you sometimes have stupid results like a Panther doing nothing but bumrushing the enemies instead of staying at range with its PPC. Not enough heat management and if you put a med laser and place it in group one then it will think you want him to get in optimal range for that weapon first and foremost...
Also AI completely ignore chain fire groups.
