Can you describe your issue more?

I launch a mission, and at op of my screen it reads : Spectator Mode", with a left & right arrow on either side of the text, and ZERO control of my my mech. Mech just stands there.

That's really weird.
Are you in career / campaign? Does it let you take over a mech if you hit Y or I? Whatever they key is to take control over another mech.

Sounds like they deployed to a mission WITHOUT a mech in the Commander's slot and broke their game as a result

I did!

Thd issue resolved with a change in ssd.

Apparently my old one needed retirement...

Everything worked & always continues too!

Changed video cards, processor, and 3 different MB...AND IT WAS A FEW FAULTY BITS ON A SATA DRIVE!.

It makes no sense...yes, but here we find ourselves...

People like to pretend that SSDs are so high quality now that they beat old HDDs in longevity.

It has never been the case. Ever. Not saying you should not use an SSD but it is just normal to expect to have to replace it after a few years. The difference in average longevity is at the very least half of the HDDs.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
