how does one open settings to change graphics, the settings menu doesnt work

If the error is that the menu is simply not appearing, I believe that's caused by a hidden menu bug which happens in some strange edge cases. We're working on pushing some fixes out by this Thursday (March 29, 2018).

If the error is that your settings don't appear to be saved, there is currently some UX issues where it is not obvious that you MUST "APPLY" the settings prior to "BACK"ing out of the menu. This probably won't be fixed this Thursday, but will be fixed in our next major patch.
