Cubism
Bug where only one cube spawns at the beginning of the game.
Update: I just released patch 1.0.2 which should fix this issue. Please comment below if this issue still happens to you for some reason!

Hey folks, I've seen some reports of the game only spawning one cube at start. I apologize if you're having issues with this, and I'm looking into a fix as soon as possible!

The issue seems to have something to do with the language settings of your PC. A temporary fix can be to temporarily switch your PC to English. In Windows, search for Settings, then go to Time & Language > Language and add English (United States)
Please post below if this temporary fixed worked for you.

Again apologies for the issues! I hope I can get to the bottom of it soon and get a proper fix out in the next patch.

Thanks a ton, I'll take a look. One more thing that occurred to me: is your language setting of your computer english, or another language like french?
(I've had two other reports of this bug and both of them came from french-speaking players, so I wonder if it may be a language encoding issue.)

My language was set to german, setting it to english fixed the problem.

Thanks for sharing your logs, delvignel0! I'm looking into this issue now.
What language preferences do you have on your computer? And if you switch to English, does it happen to solve the issue?

(ps. an easier way to share log files in the future might be to use something like pastebin or a service like wetransfer)

I was in french, didn't work, but I changed in English, and now it's working !
So for anyone with the same bug, try changing your pc language to English !

Thanks for trying this! Still haven't been able to reproduce locally by switching to french/german, but good to know this is now a feasible temporary fix! I'll update the top level post to reflect this.

Still haven't succeeded in locally reproducing the issue (even after switching to various language settings) - but with a bit of luck I may have a fix. My hunch is French/German culture settings are affecting how certain decimal numbers are getting parsed (commas instead of dots), and this fix should force the app to always use dots.

If any of you who were having this issue have a moment to try this out, please test the following steps:
  1. Switch back to your default language
  2. Confirm the issue happens again when you launch the game
  3. Close the game
  4. In your steam library on the cubism page, click the settings icon and select 'properties'
  5. In the betas tab, enter this beta access code: "SolidDissection" - this should give you access to a branch called "beta"
  6. Wait for the beta branch to download, then launch the game and see if the issue still occurs

Let me know if this works for any of you!

Hey, just tried it and it works great!
The error did occur again after switching the language back but the beta version fixed it
