I can't grow zooids altough I can remove them

I was creating and then i weren't allowed to grow any more parts. I restarded the game and nothing changed. It could've been a controller glitch so i swaped over to that but the A to grow zooids just doesnt work only removing does. I don't know how to fix it

Hi, were you not able to create in any game mode - Campaign or Aquarium? Did the creation work with mouse and keyboard? Have you tried resetting keybinds in Options -> Gameplay Settings? What kind of controller do you use?
I'd like to know more to be able to help fixing this issue. Would it be possible to record a video of what's happening when you click to grow?
The default key to open Growth should be X on Xbox controller, then select zooid to grow and press A to start placing. At which point does the game fail to work?
