Game Is Never Saving
Hi, I'm really disappointed that this keeps happening after literally hours of game play at a time. It's already happened twice. The first instance, I had purchased the bug net and captured a large variety of butterflies and also fish then saved the game only to open it the next day and see that the progress of my gameplay was that of the last time I saved before catching the new species. I knew that I saved it but I figured, maybe it was saved incorrectly or something so I play again, save, then exit the game. AFTER EXITING, I immediately re-open Hokko Life just to make sure it was properly saved and I won't be disappointed next time, and there my save was, at the exact time and date that I had left it at prior to exiting. I log on today (a week or so since the last time I played) and once again, my progress is that of what it was before I saved.

This is so frustrating and every time I log in, it keeps saying that my current save is that of when I just logged in but that's not true since I'm not saving the game or anything by just logging on. Is this problem happening for anyone else and how can it be resolved? I really want to keep playing but I don't see myself doing so if literally saving the game is being this problematic.

I save multiple times before exiting the game and so I don't know what else to do at this point.

Do you have steam cloud saves on? Are you making sure it updates the new saves when you exit the game, before you close steam? If not when you start back up steam may be backing it up based on what it has stored.

Hi thanks for answer, steam cloud saves is on and has been but I don't think it's updating the new saves since it hasn't been saving properly. Not too sure how to get around this issue though.

You can do 1 of 2 things, make sure it shows it is up to date, before you exit steam. Or turn off steam cloud saves. and see if you still have the same issue.

Every time you go into a new ingame area, the game automatically saves. This sounds like it’s more of an issue with your Steam than the game. Have you tried contacting Steam support?

I haven't contacted Steam but I could try that as well. But from what I know, it'll definitely auto save the moment I log on until the time I log off on the game itself but then not save once reopened. I'm thinking of looking into turning off the steam cloud saves but isn't that less efficient in case the PC crashes or something happens in the future?

Ya the bad part of turning off steam cloud saves, is if you change computers, or if it crashes, you wont have your save games. You could always get an external drive and every so often back up your save games on to it.

I personally always have my Steam Cloud off and backup my save files occasionally on an external drive just in case. That is upto you though, as it does come with a risk if you forget to backup one day and something happens.

I would recommend to still reach out to Steam support and see what they say :)

I have the same problem. My game will not save. I tried turning the steam cloud on and off again and nothing seams to help... Please give me a solution, I love playing this game, but if I can't save...there is no purpose in it

What is happening to you exactly?

Every time you leave and enter an area, it will automatically save your game. If you’re having issues with Steam Cloud then you will need to contact Steam Support.
