ATLAS

Beware of these developers
While I don't own this game I would strongly recommend steering clear of it due to the business practices of these developers. They change their name with every new early access release but never finish their titles. If you want to see how this game will end up I would strongly encourage you to look at a game called Dark and Light, available on Steam. Supposedly the game is release version but it is actually nothing but a buggy mess. They previously were operating under the name Snail games (ironic, that's how fast development proceeded) and now when you try to send a support ticket the email address no longer exists. You have been warned, they are serial early access releasers but not finishers.

What proof do you need? Snail Games owns Wild Card studios. Wild Card Studios set up Grapeshot Games. If you think this will end up any different to Dark and Light, then you are sadly mistaken. That being said it does have a larger player base but sadly developer incompetence doesn't discriminate based on player bases. If Atlas is having issues now guess what? They will be worse in 18 months because the player base will leave the game for (insert next Snail Games Early access title here) and development will slow to a Snail pace. Ironic name huh?

Someone would have to be pretty angry to post in forums of games they do not own to try to get people to not buy from a company they were upset at.

You got it. I'm fed up with disreputable companies milking early access in the way Snail does and ruining it for other developers who are trying to do the right thing. This company is a seriel offender.

yep, just another angry little whiner.

Whatever. Just trying to stop people from wasting their money on titles that will probably not get finished. I'm happy for you if your're enjoying it. Your comment says more about you than it does me.

i mean you have the right to your opinion. but what you said about dark and light devs and the devs for atlas are completely incorrect. the big difference is Atlas devs actually do work on the game and listen to people.
dark and light devs never gave a ♥♥♥♥ thats why there are like what 20 ppl left playing it

hmm to be fair i dont doubt that updates and so forth do seem to be coming at the Snails pace but with how much time i spent on it i feel i got my monies worth, but it is a shame it does feel like it will never be complete
Kblocks 27 Dec, 2019 @ 11:45am
and I hope it never will be . ark isn't complete either but that doesn't stop the 50000 people from logging in daily . it's called content

They are different development teams, some are successful and some are not. If you actually follow this game, you will see that they are not going to abandon it and they already have a yearly roadmap dedicated to this development process. I understand how lazy it can be just to talk ♥♥♥♥ on a team because another team not even related to this one has failed you in the past. Lets be realistic though, you can't have a point in this argument if you have never experienced the game.

lets be honest here, atlas was abandoned right at release. Single player has an incredibly common corruption bug that removes half the game and requires restarting, pretty much the only way to play is on officials that work semi well. When was the last time atlas was even patched to fix something major?

They are already working on Phase 1 of the roadmap which is for Quality of Life Improvements, Bug Fixes, & Performance Increases. They started Phase 1 after Atlas was released on Xbox.
