Problem placing item spots

on a large TDM arena, IO finished it but then was unable to place any item spots, is there a reason (a standard pistol)

The item slots don't have any restriction on them, why couldn't you place? Was there any warning message? Were you trying to place on top of the Entrance or Exit?
Did you see the white square of the selected position under your mouse?

I figured it out, they cost $50
I then had a bug on that arena where, all of them stayed still and didn't put the weapons in the correct positions. It was my favourite arena I made sadly

Oh right, I'll add a warning if cannot afford the cost.

So they placed it elsewhere or never moved the weapons from the slots?
Try saving and loading and see if they go back to work as normal.
