mod update downloading question
I've made a scenario, available in the workshop. I've since been making little changes, improvements for what I want it to be.

Even though I immediately have the changes myself anyway, every time I upload changes I'll watch to see when I get the update download from steam because I want to know that any subscribers to the mod are getting the improvements.

In the past, sometimes I've gotten the download within 5 minutes, and sometimes it seems like it takes a whole day. I can make it happen if I restart my machine and steam, but I want to understand it happening or not happening without me doing a restart.

I'm not concerned for myself because I of course immediately have any changes. But I want to know if others are getting them. I don't want a lot of players to be playing a version from months ago before the last dozen changes...unless they want to. But I don't want it to be because they're just not getting updates because of their settings, or them not paying attention to it and aren't aware of it, or any other reason.

What are the different factors affecting this? Are players generally knowledgeable of how to update a mod they've subscribed to, and to be aware of changes made thus an available update? How automatic is it for them to at least see a download available? I didn't know any of this myself until I learned how to mod. Does it do any good to post a PSA when I upload changes? Do many come into forums to see such a posting, or are they notified of it?

Thanks :)

...now almost 2 days since I last uploaded some changes, and I didn't get them downloaded from steam until I just now had a computer restart.

(I hope someone is seeing this post)
