For the smelter/kitchen, you can use Collect Complete which is like Harvest All in the farm so you don't have to click each one individually. You can also shift+click to take one or control+click to take all of a single item (this works in storehouses too).
That would allow easily see what will happens and quickly change where items go. I can see what other players may have other priorities, but it's currently not very comfortable to me:
- switching it via settings screen is too many clicks;
- keeping it on is bad for crafting items which I want to use (because I have to run to storehouse to pick them up);
- keeping it off is the worst, since I got used to quickly hit farm thingies on my way to somewhere else.
I didn't know about shift/control clicks, nor I noticed there are some buttons in smelter/kitchen, thanks.
