Have you tried verifying the files? Also, is your computer running other large programs? Sounds like an OOM problem. How much RAM do you have?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? Sometimes that fixes such a problem.

I'm having the same exact issue, the game freezes within a minute including all audio, but a few seconds late audio comes back but the screen doesn't. The weirdest part is when I try to move I can hear myself running into (what I'm pretty sure is) a block I cant destroy moving in any direction other than up, even when the freeze happened on the surface.
Was pretty exited about this game having played the demo years ago, but I think I'm gonna have to refund it :/
