Mobile lab problem

So before going to enemy huge dragon ship I had mobile lab and escort ship. Went with the escort ship to enemy base, and when colony ship saved me, the escort ship was gone. And since then i cant find my mobile lab too!? I read somewhere that it can be destroyed or something, but sometimes it says scaveneger get me some materials (and he was on the mobile lab). Is this some kind of bug, or its meant to be like this..

Did you leave the Mobile Lab on the actual enemy base? Or in orbit there? It should remain where you left it when you are rescued, but if you left it in the enemy base, it can be tough to recover once the enemy base closes. There's actually a mod that you can install to find lost vehicles: https://aground.mod.io/vehicle-finder , and you can also open the dev console (Ctrl+Shift+D) and type this code and hit enter to figure out what area it is in:

player.getNPC("research").area.id

(it'll say invalid access area if the mobile lab is destroyed, otherwise the id of the area)
