How much variety is there in the Parts?
I'm looking at a lot of the screenshots for this game and I think it'd be a fun game and that there's a lot of fun to be had from the idea of playing build-a-mech and all that.

However, I am not at all really a fan of the aesthetic of the Armored Core/Gundam-type mechs that seem to be front and center in the art and screenshots.

Does this game also support building/designing mechs closer in a bulkier, more industrial aesthetic in the vein of say Battletech, Warhammer 40k, Konflik 47, Dust, etc, or is everything going to be futuristic, lanky, where the mechs themselves are so anthropomorphic as to actually need to "hold" their weapons instead of working off of mounting points if we were so inclined?

You can make your robot LOOK like anything, but it will still play like a Gundam.
Even if you make Battletech style unit, it will still run around and do sword combos.

A lot of what you see are made almost, if not purely from the accessories system. There are armor sets you unlock with blueprint drops and then buy with credits. These range from smooth, angular, thin, large, etc., each armor set has three variants. The accessories system lets you add up to 8 pieces onto any and every armor slot, and with countless pieces you can make whatever you want. (As seen in the screenshots/art.) As for mounted weapons, the only mounted ones you really have are the Bullet Launchers, stuff like being able to have mounted Melee and Shooter parts have been denied due to how they built the game centered around the weapons being hand-held. So gameplay-wise you can't have mounted weapons, but if you build right, you can make it look integrated if you tried I'm sure.
