Is the VR Oculis obbligatory? I dont have one...

Not as of version 0.8, which is the one coming up on Steam. Balsa should be fully playable in 2D

Not sure I understood the question, but from version 0.8 onwards, Oculus should not be necessary anymore. That will be the case for all versions after 0.8 too.

So to clear things up:
- Currently you need a VR headset to play: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/rift/2059761554098821
- When Balsa is released on Steam you can both use a regular monitor or a VR headset

Will this support the Vive too? It's silly to make it an Oculus exclusive when SteamVR works with all VR headsets, especially when the market is still small for VR.

It's not going to be Oculus exclusive. It should support OpenVR (when we get back to it)
