Crashing at launch (SOLVED)

The game started one time. Now every preceding time I try to launch the game from steam it starts the initial loading window then closes, and the game quits running. Can only launch the game from the .exe in the folder.

I had the same problem.
The result was that some of the downloaded files were corrupted, so you might want to check it out. Excuse the machine translation.

so I guess that calls for a integrity check? OP you know how to do that?

yes, already ran the integrity check twice. also uninstalled and reinstalled. same thing every time. starts the first time from steam once, then anytime after that it fails to load beyond the initial white Balsa applet that pops up, and the steam interface shows it as not running as well.

huh..... Steam is known to have that kind of problem in quite a number of games, but usually integrity check would solve the problem...

"Fail to load beyond the white Balsa" did you manually close it, or did it shut down by itself?

If the game remains in a small screen and then freezes when the music starts and it tries to load, I solved it this way:

When window first pops up (before you do anything else) press ALT + ENTER to force the game into fullscreen.

That's it, after you get in the main menu you can fix your wrong resolution in the settings.
Hope this helps for you guys as well.

Alright, got it working again. I uninstalled the game in steam, then manually deleted the rest of the left over files in the install folder. after reinstalling, it loads and plays as it should. thanks for all the help and suggestions everyone.

I had to do that the first time the game loaded, but after that I was having an issue where the balsa program would crash to desktop after attempting to launch the game from steam. I solved the issue by doing a full uninstall and manual delete of the remaining files in the install folder. after reinstalling, the game launches and play flawlessly.
