Bad news for you - they most likely won't. I tested the source code of the older engine version and certain game logic is tied to the framerate, so once unlocked, certain things just break.
I don't see them patching this because it's gonna mean rewriting a lot of the engine, which is only happening in the next engine version, i.e. next game.
It's been a while since I checked, but what kind of connection do you use for that? Wow.
I personally have no desire to switch from my Dell Ultrasharp, but that number was unexpected.
I see. In that case I guess I should count my lucky stars that the game at least supports 1440p and has a decent selection of graphical options.
Still displayport, but I assume some kind of new version.
I knew going to 4k 60FPS max was the best choice I made this year.. More frames is not quite mainstream, but more resolution, gold.
The 3090 does 30fps in 8K btw.
4K has been the biggest scam for simpletons. I thought 8K was pushing it too far but hey, here you are.
Yes, of course, but it is still achievable with current technology. I am only mentioning it as a sort of contrast to where we are now and where we were 10 years ago when the first Amnesia released, and the GTX 400/Radeon HD 5000 series was more top-of-the-line (if I remember correctly).
My point is simply that while framerates and resolutions have increased across the board, and the technical reality of PC hardware has evolved to be many times faster than a decade ago, Frictional Games have made nearly zero effort to even acknowledge the existence of 120+ hz gaming, much less support it. So their games get to stay in the past, unable to move forward along with technology, and those of us who actually have this technology get a worse experience than those who have 60 hz monitors that Frictional is attached to.
They need an engine rework but when will that be? When Amnesia 3 comes out in 2030?
- Authentic retro experience at 30 or 60 frames per second, with fps-lock technology option
