No idea if this is a trend... I have just had steam for a long time and never once cared about my "new trading card inventory". The only way to make it go away is click on the thing and look at it... ohh... ahhh.
I know it seems like a petty complaint, because it is. It takes a few seconds of my life every now and then. But... why? Why is a trading card even a thing, who cares? I don't. I would prefer to never receive a card again.
1. Open Steam and click on the "Steam" tab in the top left corner of the window.
2. Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu.
3. Click on the "Notifications" tab in the left sidebar.
4. Scroll down to the "Trading Cards" section.
5. Uncheck the box next to "New Foil Trading Card" and "New Trading Card Available."
6. Click "OK" to save your changes.
This should disable notifications for trading cards on Steam. Keep in mind that this will only disable notifications for trading cards, and you may still receive other types of notifications from Steam. If you want to disable other types of notifications as well, you can follow similar steps to disable those notifications as well.
Why is he a troll for basically explaining how steam should do their job? Would something like this be so hard? No. It would be great. Get on it boys.
Probably the repetition of a bunch of in-depth advice of varying utility, from a rather fresh-seeming account (or “likely alt”), posted in a cluster.
I simply do not want to receive notifications for new cards, or any means of making them go away.
