Appeal a Review Ban?
I've made a review on Lunacid a while back, and it got banned by a moderator. I'm trying to find a way to appeal the ban so I can revise my review into something a little more respectable - but still critical.

Probably reach out to the devs about it.

You'd have to email the developer company.
Appeal? Highly doubtful when on the review it tells you it cannot be modified.

Appeal via the developer? Possibly, but the developer is probably the one who reported it.
Lunacid is a great game.

I don't think you can do anything about this. You're likely stuck with the consequences of your actions.

I think, best case scenario, is you use this as a lesson going forward to be more respectful from the get-go.

There once was an insurance company making all their ads with the slogan:
We'd like to have your problems

Review bans are given by Steam Support. Developers/publishers can't ban reviews.
It takes a lot to have a review banned by Steam.

Game devs can not ban reviews. Only Steam Support bans reviews. Reaching out to the game devs won't do anything.

OP, contact support and you might get lucky.

But after reading the review, don't hold your breath.

If it was something vulgar and hateful you wrote, you deserved it.

I've seen worse but I'm also not saying it wasn't what you said.

You can submit a ticket to steam support and OCCASIONALLY they will let you edit it to something reasonable, but its not the norm. It will often depend on how egregious the initial violation was. And do not take it for granted if they do because you can net a community ban if they feel you abused it.

As for the person above, false narrative, devs cannot ban reviews, only steam support can

Was it really disrespectful or did they just want to silence any form of criticism? I got banned from Fall of Freya hub for saying that the game should have been cheaper and the developer banned that review for "trolling" and abandoned the game.

It was offensive.

And game devs can not ban reviews.

Not false, I am literally still banned from Fall of Freya because I said $44 was too much for an Alpha which is basically a technical demo with 0 missions, content or anything and that the game might get more sales if it was decreased to $20-24. So yes, you can get banned.

And guess what, that game failed and got abandoned so I was right.

My point was, maybe OPs review wasn't ban worthy and just hit a nerve, which is a popular reason to get bans on Steam.

You're mixing up two things. The devs can moderate their own game hub and ban you from there. But they do not have any such powers when it comes to reviews. Only Steam Support can ban reviews.

The game hub belongs to the dev and they're free to ban you for any reason. But they can not do anything about a negative review as long as the review does not break community rules.

Seriously, what was in the review? I can't see it. I want to see it. Not to pass judgement and wag fingers, or throw myself in with full support. I just want to know what the content IS.

Some vulgarity.
