Counterstrike spam in whats new
I have not played CS for decades, yet I constantly get spammed by Steam in whats new. I flagged CS as to show less. It keeps popping back.

How do I make it permanently go away? Can I somehow remove CS from my library so I don't see these spam adverts again?

I tried doing this when it first came out, but couldn't find out where/how. Please point me in the right direction.

Meanwhile, I removed CS:GO keys (same process as asking for a refund, you can't remove keys for it directly like one of the posters suggested).

Right now to remove what's new:

steam installation folder > open steam ui folder > open css folder inside it > open 1010.css file > search for libraryhome_UpdatesContainer_17uEB

NOW next to it you'll read {box-sizing:border-box;padding:16px 24px 0px 24px; AND position:relative or something like that followed by other gibberish, you just have to replace position:relative with display:none!important

Save and close

JUST REMEMBER to not mess up with puntuaction and to the keep the ; at the end of it

Please remember to do this while Steam it's not running, also if you want a tiny layer of safety that will go AWOL as soon Volvo releases yet another pointless client update with no options to hide all the pandering and the layers of ignored products, to go to your desktop, right click on Steam's shortcut, go to properties and add this line -dev -noverifyfiles -norepairfiles.

If you want to remove it from your acc:
Account details>>View licenses and product key activations>>Find CS>>Press the "Remove" button. !NB this will remove the license from your account.

If you want to disable notifications about this game:
Go to the game page on Steam Store>>Ignore>>Ignore This. This will disable notifications, recommendations, and even the game itself will not be showing in the Steam Store.

You can hide CS in your library, that'll hide the update news. You can also set the update news section to show only game updates, not anything-and-the-kitchen-sink.

you need to "unfollow" the hub page

I set CS to Ignore, yet this &*$(#ing spam about RIO is still popping back into my feed.

You have to modify the skin for it. Though hiding games also stops them from showing up in the "what's new" shelf.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
