Slow Steam Downloads (Only downloads)
Hi,

Since last night, steam downloads have been slow. I'm talking watching it drop into the BPS.

The shop works fine, the streams work fine, my net is fine, google searches are fine, speed tests are fine.

Steam has no updates, pc is up to date.

Anyone else having this issue?

ISP issue 99% surely.

What country are you in?
Which ISP are you using?

Also, do other Stores/gaming services download fine i.e. fast?
(Such as MS Store, Battle.net, Epic Games Store, EA desktop app, UbiSoft Connect & so on)

Yep done all that. All are normal. Even in my ISP app it tests the network speed. All is normal.

It is literally steam downloads only.

Ouch. Bad ISP issue clearly.
They are shaping aka throttling aka slowing down your Steam download speed.

Call them and complain!
They may not want to help any, but I think this is the proper way to handle this..

Just popping it out there for anyone curious, my steam downloads are now affected with optus from my usual 30mbps (what i pay for) right down to 8mbps if im lucky...

Inferior ISP issue clearly! :)
Contact them for help. (which they may refuse if speed matches your contract)
