regardless, mainly gog and epic. a few other storefronts exist but most of them don't have as large of a selection as those two. that's it really
But as stated, GoG and Epic are your two other available options. They do not have the large catalogue that Steam has, though.
So, best of luck I guess
Epic Games Store[store.epicgames.com]
Microsoft Store[apps.microsoft.com]
https://itch.io/
Take your pick.
Besides GOG's angle of providing DRM free, offline installers, I wouldn't say there's anything that any of the other stores have over Steam though. This is the dominant PC gaming platform for good reason.
Of course I did NOT get it working. Said 12 minutes was on the launch page trying to troubleshoot the stupid thing. I wasnt logged into the actual game for one second. Of course by the time I got their response and sent mine in return I got a new message back saying I wont be recieving because NOW thew two week time period had passed.
I asked for a refund- had an employee tell me "nah you dont need it anymore" and by the tiome I clarified the issue ity was over the limit. It doesnt matter that I had asked in the correct timeframe- it doesnt matter that the product itself is faulty (and it is- feel free to search the myriad complaints for Jade Empire Special Edition)- I wasnt getting a red penny. In fact the killing blow for me and while Ill bve going to epic is because I didnt get a single human being to respond to what I wrote beyond that first interaction when shje decided I didnt actually want the refund I requested and again- for a broken game- lmao!
@Hotsauce- I dont think my main account is 11 years old- but maybe it is- this one is under three years and its the one at issue. I also make as many if not more purchases for my kids "lets gaming it out".
Anyways- thanks for the headsup. GOG has much better pricing in any case and epic l;ooks pretty solid too. Its nuts that theyd turf this much business over 5.59- lmfao- but some peop[le will step over dollars to pickup nickels- cest la vie! Thanks guys- take care...
I had not heard of itch.io- thank you!
Fair enough- but customer service is still a thing for me- if yopu wont abide your own terms of service its time to find a new retailer...
If want to do manual you go to purchase history, select the game want refund > choose I have question about this purchase, explain simply wanting a refund that it don't give any more details beyond wanting refund to how you paid, or back to steam wallet.
If you want try this guide I tested it, and game works.

1. You need steam.dll for some reason it's not in game folder, you can find one in your Steam MAIN folder go to steam folder, look for steam.dll just copy & paste into game folder. -edit- Found out Steam comes with it own steam.dll that also works for the game.
2. Rename JadeEmpireLauncher to JadeEmpireLauncherBackup or whatever, then rename JadeEmpire to JadeEmpireLauncher. Now launch the game this will edit your game JadeEmpire.ini file when get to main menu, just quit game.
3. Open JadeEmpire.ini file, change ClampFPS=1 to ClampFPS=0 that it you're done. This to remove the 30 FPS lock.
That could just be a misunderstanding, especially if you used the "I have a question about this purchase" option to request a manual refund, which you don't typically need to do. To do a refund the usual, automatic way, navigate to "Steam Support" via the Help tab, and click "Games, Software, etc." to find the game you want to refund. Click on the game and choose a reason for wanting your refund. Then, click "I’d like to request a refund," pick the method of delivery, and click "Submit". Those automatic refunds are often instant, but sometimes they can take a few minutes to a few hours. Once, during a big sale, a refund request I made didn't get approved until the next day, so don't panic if it's not instant for you.
It was not.
I really appreciate this
