Can Buying Steam Points Outside Steam Get You Banned?
I'm trying to buy a new theme for my profile, but I'm still missing some points.
If I buy a game or item directly on Steam to get the points, I’d have to spend around R$90 (about $18 USD). However, I’ve seen some websites offering 10,000 Steam Points for just R$10 (around $2 USD).

My question is: Could buying points from outside Steam get me banned or cause any problems with my account?

Has anyone here ever done it before?

Thanks in advance!

Not banned, but you have to understand that you'll be dealing with a business operating outside of anything supported, so at your own risk. It's like buying an apple from the guy in the trenchcoat in a side alley instead of the open market in front of the town hall.
Your account could get into some type of trouble if the accounts used are hijacked themselves.

It won't be anything major though.

How exactly are they going to deliver those points to you? It's not like they can just gift you that specific amount. So, personally, I'd be highly suspicious of any service claiming to be selling those points. Could well just be setting yourself up to have your account phished.

Which means they can also revoke them easily enough. If you're paying first, you're paying for promises and have to wait for a while before you actually get anything.

And then all they need do is change their password and you're out of money and no points. It could also be considered abuse of the point system as it is a form of commercial activities that Valve punish accounts for.

I understand, in that case I'll wait for a promotion or something like that on Steam, to earn some points
