Steam refunded my copy of Zombie Army 4 and i never asked them to
I requested that they refund a gift copy of the game that I got for a friend (when i found out after they didn't want it) and instead of refunding the copy of the game I gave them (yes, i triple checked and it said it was the gift for THAT friend when i put the ticket in) I find they returned my copy instead. So now, I would have to pay full price to get it again, and support is literally lying to about it. I've refunded gifts multiple times, I know how it works, and the fact they are refusing to assist with their error blows my mind. So over how stupid this is...

The process is slightly different for redeemed game gifts...

Gift Redeemed

If the gift has already been redeemed, the recipient needs to approve the refund first. If you submit a refund request before the recipient has approved the gift refund, your request will be declined. You'll see the following message when you try to refund a redeemed gift: This product was gifted to user (Account name). They’ll need to use the Help site to agree to a refund before you can request it for this product.

You essentially only requested a refund for your game instead.

:nkCool:
If your friend didn't want the game, all they had to do was decline the gift or leave it unaccepted for 30 days. Both would have automatically gotten you a refund.

That doesn't seem accurate at all as you can't refund a gift, only the person who received the gift can refund it.

So steam refunded the only thing they could in this scenario
