Well... while bank transactions appear instant, they're actually not. It can take days for the transaction to full complete, the instantaneous part comes from steps in the transaction authorize and confirm the transaction will complete and the money will be paid. And if that part doesn't occur instantaneously, there are endless examples where people buy something with the credit card or debit card that the transaction is in a pending status.
Also pending doesn't mean "not working" or "failed" per se. It just means all the expected steps to facilitate the transaction have not yet occurred. If that's not resolved within a few days the transaction fails. If it is, the transaction succeeds.
Sometimes you just have to be patient when the facade of instantaneous comes off.
