Delaying updates to single player games.

So I’m not talking about not updating a game. I’m simply wanting to delay the update.

Reason are me and my wife are both running heavily moded CP2077 and with the 2.3 patch coming out, I’d like to prevent interruption in playability(sadly the mods installed if run without mods will cause issues…) so I need to stop the update till the mods are updated for patch 2.3.

From what I’ve gathered the only way to do this is stop update till I run the game but then play the game off line. Is this the only way?

Cyberpunk 2077 is drm-free.

You could copy the game folder to another location on your drive, outside of Steam, then create a desktop shortcut to the game.exe to run it from that new location and switch the Steam version to Only update when i launch it to pause any update, or uninstall the Steam version after testing with the desktop shortcut you created from the new install location because Steam should not boot at all when running it from there.
