Or the understanding that you can disable the overlay as well. I'm serious btw: sometimes it's better to set a game to borderless and then use stuff outside of it. Not always, and this can have consequences for the in-game performance, but still: you got options.
So far doesn't seem like your experience is typical. So, you might need to look at your system than blame Valve because that's easiest.
Edit: oh look, OP's post vanished.
Imagine a game like "Supercat Survivors" and your PC crashes because of it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ omega lul.
"Get a better PC, bud."
Well you've ruled out crappy hardware. You haven't ruled out issues with your system. again, doesn't seem like most people are experiencing your problems. And that suggests something happening on your system. It's a bit more plausible than an issue with Steam that only effects you.
Plus, you didn't post your system specs. IE you omitted critical information. Who's fault is that? When you describe a problem that could be performance related and offer no information why it can't be (IE system specs) you have to expect people are gonna make the most plausible guess with the information they have.
Not everything is a personal attack or insult. But kinda seems like for you it is.
"Doesn't seem like most people"
My bad. Didn't know you spoke for most people, bud.
I know you frequent Reddit, so do me a favor and just type in "Steam shift tab crash" and you can have your results there. I will never understand people who over exaggerate when the majority of people on this planet have Google in their pockets.
But I guess I'm just making ♥♥♥♥ up, right friendo?
It was not a pc crash, It was a 100% game crash when selecting any character past the first game regardless if you win/lose (You dont have any reading comprehension?) The dev admitted in a game update it was on their side, ez report for being toxic ^^
If this is your actual system...
Something on your system is completely borked.

"It's not happening to me, so it doesn't exist" mindset is a disease.
Wow, imagine that. A console player giving his 1 cent on other peoples computer specs and how they should *definitely* be running.
Any other sage knowledge you'd like to impart with everyone, friendo?
