Wrong play time
I bought game. It crashed too much. I got refund. Now game is better. I bought game again but instead of a fresh new game it says I have played 2.2 hours. I don't want to pick up where I left off. I want a whole new game that I just payed for. There is no way to contact STEAM about this. If I start my new game now and it messes up again I will not be able to get a refund due to play time. I want my play time to start over at zero. Something tells me I am screwed. Maybe I need a second STEAM account to start over. Any ideas?

Is the game so obscure that you couldn't get the needed information online? Generally, when games are unstable, people make a fuss about it.
Previous playtime counts. You've simply re-bought the same game. Ask in the game forum how to start a fresh game but any data such as time played and achievements earned remain.
J4MESOX4D ~ So what if I had a second STEAM account and bought the game? I will try to find the game forums but this is a STEAM issue I think and not a game issue. Thanks for the input.
Thermal Lance ~ People were complaining about the game crashing but I didn't find out until after I bought it and tried to play. Is that what you meant?
Play time never resets, because that would just make people buy a game, play for 1:45h, refund, buy it again, play for 1:45h, refund, buy it again ...

Playtime from free weekends, family licenses etc. counts too.
Refunding and then later rebuying the game does not reset your playtime.

This is to prevent refund abuse.

The playtime has nothing to do with your save files.
You are free to start a new save file at any time.

You can buy the game on a second Steam account and it will start from scratch. Playtime doesn't reset upon each purchase to stop refund abuse.
HikariLight ~ Play time is the issue. You only get a refund if you meet certain play time requirements. I don't want to try the game again just to have it mess up again. I've already gone past the refund time limit. I guess I'll just have to get a refund and get a second account to start my play time over.
Kargor ~ I can see what you mean but in my case the game crashed every 5 minutes. I can't play like that so I got a refund. I don't want to start again just to find out the game still crashes and I have no way to get the refund.
OK. How do I delete this thread?

So you are wanting to abuse the refund system.

That's EXACTLY why the playtime does not reset each time you refund.

The refund system is NOT a way to demo the game.
Lilim ~ Thanks. I got a lot of really great replies. I got the info I needed. I am done. Thanks everyone!
