Game devs are gold, but only in their games hub.
Game hub moderators are yellow, but only in the hub in which they have moderation powers.

Game hub mods are orange. They also have a grey star next to their name.

steam mods only post when they telling people why they are locking a thread. otherwise, you will not see them.

if someone contacts you claiming to be a mod, they are a scammer. Steam moderators are not here to have a conversation with people, they are here to moderate the forums.

as shown here, you can see the mod has made the last post in the thread and locked it

note the color of the name and how the name looks

Mods are indicated as such when they post in the process of locking threads. Those will be the only posts you see, and it's quite possible that they are simply generic accounts that are used by multiple moderators.

Steam mods will never communicate with you about your account using any chat system including Steam Chat and Discord :hp_kyu:.
The actual mods don't interact with the community, aside from leaving notes when locking threads.
TIL 3 is a lot.
Your theory about moderators "sharing steam accounts" between themselves is funny and that means they're breaking their own rules. The irony.

That's Crazy
They only interact with you through support tickets and forum locking etc anything else is a scammer.
I wonder why they can't tell us why they can't tell us why they can't have normal conversations here.

They might do just not under moderator status.

Because if they would do that the next "little kid" would complain that that Mod would take a specific side and he got banned because of that.

Interesting theory, but still, I can't find any 'rules for moderators' in the Steam Support documents. Maybe I missed it or we're all supposed to 'just know' because a document we can't read said so and therefore they think we read it too.

They are here to do a job and that job is to Moderate the forum. They are not here to chat with us. It's a waste of time.

It's the same rules for them as it is for the users.
