Nothing you put the cartridge in and turn it on you didn't have to do anything to make it run good. Pop the cartridge in and it just worked. Unlike the nes that had a problem reading the cartridge and people blew in them to get them to work but the problem was the spring loaded cartridge carriage it would get loose and the fix was taking a folded up notebook paper and putting it in there to wedge the carriage down to get the game to play.
